Partners & Managers - Who will I be working with?

Richard Crawley
Partner

Richard joined GLS as a trainee and qualified in 1978.

Shortly after qualifying he was seconded to a large building and construction client where he spent two years gaining some invaluable experience, both of life in a commercial environment and of computerised accounting systems.

On his return to GLS this experience was used to commence the computerisation of the Practice and to assist and advise clients with their selection and implementation of computer accounting systems.

Now a general practice partner, Richard uses the knowledge that has been gained from many years in the Profession to look after a portfolio of clients that contains a wide range of businesses, individuals and trusts.

With a liking for good food, real ale, travelling and gardening, he also enjoys most sports – although he admits that he watches more than he participates these days !

Richard resides in Cuffley, is married to Kath and they have three adult sons.

Paul Moston
Partner

Paul has been with GLS since 1984. He undertook his training contract with the firm and qualified in 1989 at the age of 24. He specialises in the provision of general business services to small and medium sized companies and the provision of spreadsheet training. Paul is committed to the successful development of his clients.

Outside of work Paul enjoys distance running and good food.

Gary Cleaver
Partner

Gary joined GLS in 1999 having gained extensive experience in the profession following his qualification in 1991. Initially with a specialist background in large client corporate audit, Gary has combined that with a solid grounding at smaller firms and now provides business advisory services to our clients across a wide range of size and business sectors.

When not at work, Gary has taken an active involvement over the years in the running of his local tennis club and there have been reports of rare sightings of him on court holding a racquet.

Brian Davis
Financial Services Manager

Brian joined the firm in 1980 and was appointed manager in 1987, having previously had an extensive taxation background. He is a member of the Society of Financial Advisers and the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Brian specialises in portfolio advice and management on a non-discretionary basis, and all aspects of pensions and pre and post retirement planning. He is also involved in all aspects of wealth and tax planning, including advice on the use of trusts and offshore investments.

Brian is married with two teenage daughters and lives locally. He claims to have little time for hobbies but is known to be both a regular golfer and supporter of Sunderland AFC.

Lawrence McAulay
Tax Manager

Lawrence Graduated in Law from Selwyn College, Cambridge University in 1984. Since then, he has worked in professional practice, advising on general tax matters, with a leaning towards the tax affairs of high net worth individuals, owner-managed businesses and property owners. Lawrence is a qualified Taxation Technician and also a Chartered Tax Adviser.

Lawrence lives in Croxley Green and is married with two young sons. Most of his spare time is taken up transporting his sons to social and sports events, but he also has time to attend most Saracens home games.
